PRIVACY
Privacy notice
This page explains what this website does with your information. The short version: almost nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics, no forms and no accounts, and the site does not contact any other company.
Who is responsible
This website presents Civic Radar, a project that is still being developed. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Frederick Parenteau. You can reach them at frederic.robert.parenteau@gmail.com. We designed this site to collect as little as possible, guided by Quebec's Law 25.
What the site keeps on your device
Two small settings are saved in your browser so the site remembers you from page to page: the language you chose, and the role you picked on the home page together with the short list of pages suggested for it. They stay on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. The site sets no cookies. You can erase these settings at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and the site then goes back to its default language.
What the site does not do
No analytics or statistics tools. No advertising or tracking. No forms and no accounts. No videos, maps or other content embedded from other companies: the videos and audio play from this site, and the fonts are hosted here too.
What the hosting company sees
Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting company, Netlify. When your browser asks for a page, the host receives your IP address and basic technical details such as the page requested, the time and your browser type. That is how a web page reaches you. The host's servers may be located outside Quebec. We do not run any tool that identifies or follows visitors.
If you write to us
The email links on this site open your own email program. If you write to frederic.robert.parenteau@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply to you and, if you wrote about the pilot, to coordinate it with you. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else. We keep it only as long as needed to follow up, and we delete it when you ask.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to frederic.robert.parenteau@gmail.com and we will answer as soon as we can, within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
About the app
This notice covers this website only. Civic Radar, the app, is still being developed. Before it collects any personal information, it will have its own privacy policy.
Changes and date
If this changes, for example if we ever add analytics, we will update this page before it does. Last updated: October 9, 2026.
