The General Store (Shop)
The Shop turns Civic Radar's core recovery pattern into a small marketplace — physical tags priced by category under Protect, and printable notices, events, and gift moments under Broadcast — all built on the same scan-to-reveal foundation as the rest of the app.
Best on a larger screen: the side-by-side view shows every annotation at once.
Shop opens on Protect — physical recovery tags priced by category — with Broadcast as a second tab for occasion-based digital experiences: notices, events, and moments.
The Broadcast tab opens with a short intro video explaining the tag-and-scan pattern, then surfaces the three occasion types below it — Notice, Event, Moment — each its own card.
Notice explains its core trick before asking for any content: print once, then edit the scanned page anytime — Lost pet and Lost item share the same toggle.
The Share step surfaces the free printable poster first, with Publish Notice as the primary action — nothing here requires buying the physical tag.
Scrolling down shows the exact page someone will see when they scan it — a live preview, not just a sample image.
Paper size, headline emphasis, and an optional reward line can all be adjusted right there — no separate settings screen to go hunting for.
Once published, the Live step shows the actual notice card — Biscuit, Still Missing — plus Preview as a scanner and Edit notice, so publishing isn't a dead end.
Keepsake Moment tag is sold like any other item — price, finish picker, and a How it works strip — reframed for gifting rather than recovery.
Scrolling the same page completes the three-step story: ships in days, scan to register it to a Vault moment, then it's ready to attach and give.
Creating an event follows the same three steps as a Notice — Build, Share, Live — with a live preview above the form that updates as you type in the title, date, place, and details.
The full preview reuses the exact summary card from the composer — no separate scanner-facing template — with tag chips for extra context like For sale items or Map pinned.
The poster proof for an Event carries a QR code and the event's live details, following the identical printable-poster pattern already established for Notice.
Build the moment asks for only To, Photo, Message, and From — the minimum needed for a personal gift note, with nothing else competing for attention.
Scanning a lost-item tag opens a public, no-app landing page — photo, status, and a Message the owner privately action — the entire point of the physical tag.
The category grid — House, Car, Computer, Bike, Keys, Wallet, Pet, Luggage — leads with price per tag, so the cost is visible before tapping into any one item.
Product detail surfaces per-tag savings at a glance — 1, 4, or 12 tags — with the same How it works strip and a review count for trust, before the single Add to cart action.
Rather than a blank state, the empty cart renders as a bottom sheet over the product page it was opened from, keeping context instead of dead-ending the flow.
